Overview
Each year, Vanderbilt student-athletes come together through Dancing Dores to support Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital by raising funds and building meaningful relationships with local children and their families. As a leader for the Vanderbilt Women's Golf team, I helped plan and coordinate our annual Miracle Kid experience, ensuring our guest and their family had a memorable, welcoming, and personalized day with the team.
The Challenge
Create a seamless and engaging experience that balanced event logistics with meaningful personal interactions, while coordinating multiple stakeholders and ensuring every detail contributed to a positive experience for our Miracle Kid and their family.
My Role
As one of the team leaders, I was responsible for organizing and coordinating our annual event from concept to execution. My responsibilities included:
Leading the planning and coordination of the team's Miracle Kid experience
Developing the event schedule and coordinating day-of logistics
Collaborating with coaches, teammates, athletics staff, and Dance Marathon organizers
Assigning responsibilities and ensuring everyone understood their role
Planning activities that encouraged interaction and created lasting memories
Preparing personalized gifts and coordinating hospitality throughout the visit
Managing the event timeline and adapting plans as needed throughout the day
Outcome
The annual experience strengthened our partnership with Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital while creating meaningful moments for our Miracle Kid and their family. More importantly, it reinforced how thoughtful planning, teamwork, and attention to detail can transform an event into an unforgettable experience.

Overview
As a two-year member of Vanderbilt's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), I represented the Women's Golf team while collaborating with student-athletes, athletic administrators, coaches, and campus organizations to improve the student-athlete experience. The role strengthened my leadership, event planning, and project management skills by giving me the opportunity to help organize initiatives that fostered community engagement, leadership development, and student involvement.
Responsibilities
During my two years on SAAC, I contributed to the planning and execution of campus-wide events, leadership initiatives, and community service programs by:
Coordinating logistics and planning student-athlete events
Collaborating with representatives from every varsity sport to execute initiatives
Partnering with athletics administration and campus organizations to align event goals and timelines
Supporting fundraising efforts and community outreach programs
Managing project timelines, meeting schedules, and team communications
Gathering and representing student-athlete feedback to athletic leadership
Assisting with leadership programming and student-athlete engagement events
Impact
Serving on SAAC taught me how successful events depend on thoughtful planning, clear communication, and strong stakeholder relationships. Working with diverse teams across the athletic department strengthened my ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate competing priorities, and execute initiatives that created meaningful experiences for hundreds of student-athletes.
